AudioVisual Entrainment
Audio-Visual Entrainment (AVE) is a technique that uses light and sound stimulation at specific frequencies to guide the brain toward desired brainwave patterns. Essentially, when you present the nervous system with a repetitive on-and-off signal, such as lights flickering at a particular rate, the brain begins to follow along. In this way, these programs can be used to stimulate the brain, slow it down, or use it to assist with specific meditative or altered states of consciousness. These approaches have been used as an adjunct to assist with the management of ADHD, anxiety, depression, sleep concerns, and PTSD. In addition, research has demonstrated that AVE technology can increase production of certain neurotransmitters such as serotonin and norepinephrine as well as increase cerebral blood flow.
Because this technology is relatively affordable and easy to use, we often recommend at home training as an adjunct to neurofeedback, altered states therapy, and ketamine assisted therapy.
We also offer small group experiences designed to teach about this technology and use it to enhance the meditation process.
